Often, people want to know exactly when something is going to happen. It’s understandable. We’re human. Living with uncertainty is hard. Sometimes, so hard, you need to call your Friendly Neighborhood Tarot Reader at 3 am. Okay, fair enough. I’m the one who left my phone on.
I try to preface time frame questions with the power we each have to manifest our destiny. I believe that we are the Captains of our Destiny, not simply puppets in an unknown universal play.
Leaving one’s phone on in the night could cause grouchiness, or it could lead to an opportunity for manifestation. Hence, I shall be the Captain of my Destiny, and choose opportunity.
“I’ll try,” I say, groggily. “I’m just waking up.” This, my friends, is not exactly the embodiment of self-care. But, I am the one who left my phone on.
I pull a card. The Two of Cups. A man and a woman stand, sideways to the viewer, touching hands, sharing a cup. This card is related to the Lovers. Also, there are references in the clothing worn to the High Priestess and the Fool. A red lion above the two figures signifies fire and passion. The caduceus below the lion signifies healing, and the healing properties of the water in the cup. Also known as the Staff of Hermes, the same symbol in medical fields.
When I’m looking for guidelines on time, I look at two aspects.
One, what may be experienced over the next few months. So, if I’ve pulled the Two of Cups, a partnership may be experienced. Such as: a relationship of some sort, but also, could be a job. A partnership between two people can be the relationship between you and your new job.
There’s also a little house in this card that is often overlooked. It’s nestled in the hills in the background, sort of tippy! I love this little house, because it’s like all the houses I’ve ever lived in. Small, cozy, home, but kind of crazy. Maybe more on that subject later.
Two, astrological references. Each card in our Tarot deck also has a seasonal aspect, or astrological aspect. The Tarot is a journey through the seasons of life, the progressions of a situation. Tarot is the story of what we are here on earth to learn. The wheel of astrology is similar in that progression- as is any human- invented measure of anything. It is possible to align the cards with the signs of the Zodiac.
Cups are a watery sign, and so I look at water signs. My three water signs are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. The Two of Cups is somewhat of a beginning of something. (Highly technical terminology there.) I also know that the Cardinal Zodiac signs are the beginning of each season. Aries for Spring, Cancer for Summer, Libra for Fall, and Sagittarius for Winter. Cancer is both a watery sign and a beginning sign. Here’s my cheat sheet for this situation:

Returning to the card I pulled, this is a Two of Cups. A two is a cardinal, or beginning card. The cups align with water, or Cancer. The beginning of Cancer happens at the beginning of summer.
A new partnership or job may be offered at the beginning of Summer. I’m looking at the period between June 20th – June 30th. This is the first ten degrees of Cancer.
The Two of Cups also aligns with The Charioteer. This card shows a steely soul steering two sphinxes in a straight line. The sphinxes make every effort to go in opposite directions. Yet the Charioteer pilots confidently. It’s important to look at correlations in number between the cards.
And so, my friends, this is one technique I use. I feel a bit like a firefighter having jumped into turnout gear at a moment’s notice right now. But, I’m glad I was able to help, and hopefully this client will manifest that early Summer Cancer energy.
